Bursting onto the.Newcastle based indie-pop band Mausi have been slowly building up a reputation for themselves over the last couple of years.
Mausi reference inspiration in the form of ‘European pop’ such as Daft Punk, Justice and Phoenix. Traces of which can be heard on first single ‘Sol’ with its slickly-produced glistening beats and electronic-tinged outro vocals. It’s not just other artists which feed into MAUSI’s output.We chat to Daisy Finetto about the origin stories, their love of Sophie Ellis-Bextor and how Mausi is a woman from the French Riviera.
We describe our sound as the soundtrack to the life of a young European girl who’s nick name is Mausi. She is the daughter of a rich European Diplomat and is spending a summer jet setting around Europe going to house parties and driving along the riviera on a Vespa.
